Event Updates
Lantern Walk today, Wilderness Event in March!
Happy February 1st!
I’ve been watching the weather all week, feeling anxious that snow forecasts might impede travel for today’s Lantern Walk, but things are looking a bit warmer and clearer now, and we just might even see some stars tonight.
Hannah and I plan to be at Taylor’s Landing in Duvall at 6:45 with some “Night Club” signs, and we’ll be taking the Snoqualmie Valley Trail route when the walking begins. We hope to see you there! Remember to either bring your lantern or attend one of the workshops in town to make your own.
This day means a lot of things to a lot of people, so in addition to the little I wrote about it last month, I wanted to link some good reading from Amanda Yates Garcia (also known as the Oracle of L.A.) and Piper CJ (Master of Folklore turned Romantasy author), and excerpts from Kathleen Norris’s (Poet, Essayist) “The Cloister Walk” sourced with commentary from “Winter: A Spiritual Biography of the Season.” Contained here are great writeups about groundhogs, jumping over candles, sacred wells, and much more

Know the Night
I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a FREE community event modeled off of Night Club on Vashon Island at Camp Sealth next month, called Know the Night!
Camp is located on 360 acres of dark woods with access to Colvos Passage on Puget Sound, and has meadows, covered fire pits, and trails which we can play with. You can even rent a cabin for an additional fee and stay the night so you don’t have to worry about catching a late ferry, or so you can keep stargazing, or take a morning beach stroll. It’s going to be so lovely!
The webpage is live and you can mark your calendars for March 29th, although registration is not yet open.

I hope to see you out there in that big, beautiful night!
